    One week today! Poetry Slam!
Since this is a performance, we talked about performance techniques.
Use of voice - speed, volume and how to vary them to be effective.
Use of gesture - how can you emphasize what you are saying with your hands?
We looked at these two poems below, with this in mind.
As I told the class today - you should be practicing everyday between now and next Thursday. Perform for your family, perform for your stuffed animals, perform in front of the mirror...
I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Writing
  • Voice
    • Distinctive, unique - your own

Oral Presentation

    1. Draw 3 or 4 (or more different triangles.
    2. Measure and mark the side lengths and angle measurements. Notate as I showed you in class.
    3. Write a statement (or multiple statements) about the relationship between the sides and angles in a triangle.

    Dance

        This is the song we settled on for your final assignments (performed Feb 5th). Here is the criteria we came up with together, that will be the basis of your assessment.

      • original choreography
      • creative opening/ending
      • use of space/pathways
