Our last meeting with our nature buddies.
You guys have been so amazing with them - many many thanks!

We finally got to plant the aquatic plants that we have been growing for the last few months.
We also got a first hand look at the effect plants are having on the water quality. Many sensitive creatures are now able to live in the water.
We also got a short talk from the Town of Newmarket on the importance of our pollinators. Newmarket is officially a Bee City! Consider putting up a solitary bee house or butterfly house in your yard to help out.
Thanks to Cassandra and Katie from Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority.

Below is some info about an event that I am looking forward to attending.

Perhaps I'll see some of you there!
Further info can be found at:

It’s a FREE, fun, family-friendly learning event
for the whole community!

Saturday, June 23rd, 2018Start: Willow Beach Park with a 1 km walk along Lake Drive to ClearWater Farm.

8 am: Check in at Willow Beach Park, 8:45 am: An Elder from the Chippewas of Georgina Island leads a water prayer and blessing;
9:30 am: The ClearWater Farm Water Walk begins.
Led by Chippewas water keepers, kids and their families will walk along the shores of Lake Simcoe to ClearWater Farm where they will visit four interactive, hands-on learning stations themed around Water, Earth, Food and Community. They’ll enjoy a free lunch and then retrace their steps back to Willow Beach Park. But there is more…
From tragedy can come hope. Businesses are sponsoring this event to help rebuild the ClearWater Farm Barn that burned down accidentally in 2016 as an amazing interactive education space for children. As Georgina’s newest community asset, ClearWater Farm is a place for experiential learning connecting nature, food, community and eco-friendly technology.

Great excitement to start the day!
Jake discovered an egg that had been laid in our playground wood chips.
We are not sure what it is, but we have many theories.
I have posted it to iNaturalist to see if we can get any help.
